Annotation This second volume of the series focuses on two of the bloodiest years of fighting in the young Texas Republic, including the Surveyor's Fight, the Battle of Brushy Creek, and the Cherokee War of 1839. Volunteer Ranger companies, the Texas Militia, and a new Frontier Regiment of soldiers were employed to combat the rise in Indian hostilities against the settlements.
