On the Trail of the Assassins

On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was murdered in Dallas, Texas. Within hours it was learned that Lee Harvey Oswald, who was arrested for the crime, had lived in New Orleans the preceding summer. New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison immediately commenced an investigation and arrested a suspicious former C.I.A. pilot and anti-Castro soldier of fortune named David Ferrie. He turned Ferrie over to the F.B.I. for questioning, but shortly thereafter, federal authorities released him. Ten months later the Warren Commission Report ratified the "offocial story" that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin of the President. It was not until three years later that Garrison returned to the investigation, after a senator confided to him his suspicion that the Warren Commission was 'dead wrong'. As this harrowing tale reveals, Garrison painstakingly uncovered evidence - ignored by the Warren Commission - that members of the U.S. intelligence community had conspired to kill President Kennedy adn that Lee Harvey Oswald had been set up as their fall guy.
