Fodeman, a directory of technology, and Monroe, a clinical social worker and educator, both in Massachusetts schools, have conducted surveys and collected data regarding the behavior of children and teens online for several years. Some of their findings have been published, but here they translate them into advice for youth, teachers, library media specialists, parents, and others. Among the matters they discuss are choosing screen names and passwords, responding to uncomfortable online situations, leaning to be media savvy online, and establishing home rules for Internet safety. Exercises and resources are provided for each chapter. Annotation ©2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com).
