Examines the role of Tina Modotti as both a catalyst and sustenance for Weston, culminating in his voyage to Mexico; the significance of this journey to the development of Weston's formalist aesthetic and the advancement of his career; and particularly the surviving work of Modotti as distinct in conception and execution from that of her instructor, Edward Weston.
