Constructed like a hall of mirrors, the plot could be that of a thriller. Thanks to his knowledge of the Russian language, a young man finds a job as a private teacher in the house of one of the Russian oligarchs on the Costa del Sol. He soon realises that the family is hiding for a reason that somehow involves the most incredible diamonds he has ever seen. José Manuel Prieto's visual imagery, verbal opulence and literary rigour place him in a league of his own among recent Latin American literature.
