Robert Hanna (1774-1821) was born in Prince Edward County, Virginia, the son of Robert and Mary Ervin Hanna. He married Mary Parks, daughter of James Parks in Virginia. They migrated to Laurens District, South Carolina, shortly after their marriage. They had nine children born in South Carolina. The family migrated to Indiana ca. 1804 and settled in Franklin County. The book gives many details of the life in early Franklin County, especially Brookville, Indiana. Descendants listed lived in Indiana and elsewhere. The genealogy section lists names and places only, no dates.
