The Brewery's Mystery

The Brewery's Mystery is a detective story set in the city of Madrid in 1929. Its aim is to entertain the reader by describing in broad strokes the difficulties and vicissitudes of Spanish society in the years leading up to the Civil War. It places its characters in a changing and exciting world in which they must strive to fulfill their life projects and fight against the old customs and prejudices of the society around them. All this is spiced up with characters from different social backgrounds involved in a plot of economic extortion around an old and prestigious brewery that serves as the setting, and a pair of private investigators (man and woman) who try to clarify the facts and put victims and perpetrators in their place. The author uses a narrative technique that aims to immerse the reader in the story and make him or her a participant in the events, as if he or she were another witness who had lived through them.
