It is December 2004, Frank Carroll is now a Detective Inspector with the Merseyside Major Incident Team, and Ted is the Reverend Father at the Holy Church of Trinity in Liverpool. A sequence of apparently unrelated rape victims are found dead in Liverpool and convinced that a serial rapist and murderer is on the loose, DI Carroll assisted by Ted Maloney and the team from MIT launch a major investigation to catch the killer. A series of events unfold during the investigation, which gradually reveals the Immaculate Deception. As they unlock the doors releasing the ghosts of their own hidden past, DI Carroll and Father Maloney are faced with their greatest challenge. To catch the killer they must go back to Northern Ireland, and after twenty-four years of being sworn to secrecy, they must expose the hidden truth about what they saw that day at the at the Keep, the day their childhood ended. You can run from the truth and you can even try to bury your past, but one thing is certain, the day will come when the past catches up with you... For Frank and Ted that day has arrived.
