A Short Life of Saint Vincent de Paul

Founder of the Vincentians of the Daughters of Charity, Vincent de Paul is nonetheless more widely known because of the activities of the great charitable organisation, the Society of St Vincent de Paul. Vincent is the great saint of the poor and yet his life story shows that his journey towards an option for the poor was long and tortuous. His personal ambition and a natural inclination towards power and wealth characterised his early life, and the dark and difficult times he experienced in the course of his conversion are an inspiration to everyone.
