A Mexican-American Family of California, in the Service of Three Flags

Jose Delores Olivas, son of Jose Pablo Olivas (1780-1817) and Maria Luciana Fernandez (1782-1838), was born in 1802 in Santa Barbara, California. He married Maria Gertrudis Valenzuela, daughter of Antonio Maria Valenzuela (1788-1841) and Maria Antonio Feliz, in 1829. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Spain, Mexico and California. Includes Basulto, Melendez, Ortega, Parra, Quintero and related families.
