"The Lost Child" is a short story set in France. M. That is except a wife at his side, for alas, he was a widower. His wife had died giving birth to their son, young Raoul who was now four years old. But when left with the housekeeper and governess one day, Raoul goes missing in the streets of Paris, the resulting events lead to an epiphany in the mind of his distraught father...
