Terrain Evaluation Manual

Terrain exerts a major influence in shaping the design of roads and other engineering structures, especially in developing countries where a minimum costs specification is usually adopted. The emphasis of this manual is on highway engineering, but the principles of site investigation planning apply to resource development in general, and the manual can be used equally to plan other forms of civil engineering project, such as an irrigation scheme or the layout for a new town.
