To shake the fears of navigation and keep hopes alive, men told stories about hidden treasures, storms, islands and wooden legs, all very real things. However, ghosts, miracles of saints and even the devil himself found their way into these stories. And the legend was born, so real that no one would laugh at the person telling it and so enigmatic that no one would forget it.
