This is the story of Napoleon Bonaparte Mitchell, the 17-year-old lad who was the only man in the Alamo who didn't want to kill, didn't believe in violence or the taking of a life. He is one of the 13 men in Davy Crockett's Tennessee mounted volunteers who died defending the "Pallisade" wall of the Alamo. The story shows what it was like to be a young man in the Texas army of 1836.
