Household Responses to Poverty and Vulnerability

Traditionally, medicinal plants have been considered unique to the health sector, but they are increasingly playing a role in agriculture and environmental programs. In fact, the booming trade in medicinal plants is raising them high on the lists of threatened or endangered species. This report provides an overview of the global situation and highlights the efforts China and India are making to ensure the conservation of this resource on which millions rely for their health.
