The body of a second woman has just been discovered. Scotland Yard is at an impasse as the crimes continue to unfold. The only way to make progress in this complex case is for Inspector Dorian Griffiths to call upon the aid of Dr Johnstone, an expert pathologist in charge of an ostentatious funeral home.
