The Living

Historically, there were four linked communities on Bellingham Bay - Whatcom, Old Bellingham, Sehome and Fairhaven, which incorporated with each other in various combinations throughout the second half of the nineteenth century. It was not until the events in this story had long passed - not until 1904 - that they consolidated to form the city of Bellingham.
