James Ormand (1669-1766) immigrated from Ireland to Mecklenburg County, North Carolina during or before 1719, and was granted 400 acres of land by King George II in 1754. Descendants and relatives lived in North Carolina, Virginia, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Indiana and elsewhere. Includes autobiography of the early life of Helen (Orman) Norwood.
