Globalization, Urbanization, and the State: Selected Studies on Contemporary Latin America examines how the political economy of Latin American states is affected by larger global processes as well as smaller, urban ones. In particular, in a climate of increasing economic globalization and much growth in the urban informal sector it explores the possibilities for promoting both economic growth and social development.
