Double White Lines combines two novellas, connected by the suburbs of Langarrin and Henley, perched at the end of the Freeway, between the bush and the ocean.Freeway is a slice of life novella which follows a group of women in their early twenties, who are trying to find their way through the trials and joys that befall them. There's the artist Beattie, who is in love but must let it go; Bianca, who escapes from one mess, perhaps only to fall into another; and the twins, Gracie and Lou, brought up in chaos, who just want to escape their life situation, one way or another.In Lodged, a young woman named Arity returns from living interstate, brought home by family disaster. She must try to make peace with her family; but she finds herself distracted by a relationship with a man she doesn't know if she should trust.
