This volume presents the bequest of Mrs T.R.P. Hole to the Victoria and Albert Museum, in memory of Bettine, Countess of Abingdon. The collection includes French Empire furniture originally bought by British diplomat, Lord Stuart de Rothesay, British Ambassador in Paris during the Napoleonic wars. Also featured are furnishing bronzes, paintings, prints and drawings, ceramics, books, textiles and Lady Abingdon's 20th-century jewellery.
