Introduction to Health Care

"Introduction to Health Care is a college-level introductory text that addresses the core competencies needed by all health care students regardless of the health care field they plan to pursue. Topics common to all health care professions such as communication, infection control, environmental safety, controlling health care costs and professionalism in the workplace are presented in a "job authentic" manner that emphasizes the importance of developing thinking skills as opposed to just memorizing facts. Models demonstrate how to assess a situation, consider alternatives, choose an appropriate alternative, evaluate the results and revise as necessary.
