Knowing Otherwise

Using stories and incidents from women's own lives, the authors build a picture of how limiting male-dominated church structures and doctrines have been for women and how strongly a new culture and spirituality is emerging which affirms women's lives and work. They cover five key areas: Women's experience of the divine; Menstruation and attitudes to the body and sexuality; Women's work; Violence suffered by women and not only permitted but eben promoted by the church; Patriarchical attitudes of society.
