Construction is Issue 01 of Barbara, Brisbane: Opposite Editions, ISSN 2653-1380

Barbara is a project of conceptual diversity, where the abstract and concrete can collide.

It combines explicitly architectural material with things on the margins – distant from the conventional labours of architectural practice, study and scholarship, which may well touch the same edges of other disciplines. This first and therefore inevitably experimental issue, features a diverse constellation of material outputs, all of which relate to the construction of things or to things as construction(s). This issue’s editorial process has been consciously aware of the publication’s gestational nature. In other words, reflection at this point in a serial process feels inevitably naive.
