After the failure of her marriage, Marcie Browder returns to the vast West Texas ranch she grew up on, to try to recapture her sense of self and security. But almost immediately she has an argument with her father. The next day she finds him murdered ... with Tucker McGee, the new ranch foreman, standing over the body.
