Brave New Teachers

This book is about democratic teacher practices in a culturally diverse school system. It is based on a study that investigates the extent to which graduates of a teacher education program grounded in the democratic principles of equity, diversity, and social justice can integrate these principles into their pedagogy in a climate of conservative school culture and state-mandated educational reform that focuses on standards-based curricula and accountability.
