There is a debilitating myth when it comes to living the Christian life that has the church worldwide by the scruff of the neck. It has not always been this way, but it certainly is the culture that pervades the church presently. It is man-centered in nature and it is works centered in its explanation and application. It is a scandal across the church that is long overdue in giving this the urgent attention it deserves.It is my goal throughout this book and in this chapter to explode the prevailing myths that are spoiling the wonderful truths that center in on living for Jesus Christ. What does that mean and how do we get back to the Newer Testament pattern of Christian living?
