This book gives a unique insight into the Scott architectural dynasty. It originated in an illustrated talk on Sir Giles Gilbert Scott and the influences on his work, which was given in 1962 by his son, Richard, also an architect. Giles' work spanned the first six decades of the twentieth century, from his commission for Liverpool Anglican Cathedral at the age of 22, via iconic power stations, libraries and telephone boxes, to a church in Plymouth that he was working on when he died. The book contains the text of the talk, to which the editors have added explanatory footnotes, and reproductions of 75 of the original slides.
