Judy Natal

For many years, photographer Judy Natal has been photographing archaeological ruins, and creating "parallel relationships between archaeology and photography." With the inspiration of the writings of Earthworks sculptor Robert Smithson, Natal says she "began to envision texts in the earth much like the archaeological fragments that I had been photographing." She received an artist residency at Joshua Tree, CA to investigate the language of the landscape.
