"Literary-fiction inspired by life in the South Pacific. These 32 tales are based on events and conditions in Aotearoa-New Zealand - aka Land of the Long White Cloud, Down Under, Kiwiland - and other islands of Polynesia. Together they present the varied facets of living in these islands - pleasure, pain, calamity, comedy, fun, misfortune, loss, triumph indeed, as in any part of the world, of being human. Most have been published previously, appearing in magazines including NZ Listener, Takahe, Eve, Thursday, and some newspapers; four have been included in anthologies; and others broadcast on radio. Several have won short story competitions.
