In the small town of Enfield, Connecticut sits a 200-year-old home considered to be one of the oldest in the area. It is also known to be one of the most haunted residences in New England. Dating back to 1771, the home has witnessed strange activity since the first title owner turned the key and stepped across its threshold. Of the 25 owners, 24 would suffer some type of mysterious set-back or death. Murders, suicide, unexplained falls down staircases, burnings, hangings, ghosts, shadow people, and the most frightening of all, an entity that would tear apart those who invaded its domain. This is the true story of the Yaple family who are the current owners at 37-39 Prospect Street. The duplex has been the scene of more carnage and unexplained deaths than any home could realistically claim. The Yaple's 18 years at the home pitted them against an unseen force that was the stuff of which nightmares are made. Their twin daughters seemed to be the target for much of the paranormal activity and attacks. As the years passed, the activity ramped up. It went from scratching and banging on the walls, to missing and flying objects, tormented pets, and visitors being subjected to water dripping on them from the ghost of a young girl wearing a wet gown. Finally, the demon appeared to them in the form of a snarling dog, bloody handprints on their baby's cribs, a shredded Bible, and a terrifying winged creature at the top of the stairs. Shadow people passed through walls into each side of the duplex as if closed doors did not exist. In the attic of the home, a tall black shadow man in a fedora stands and stares at the occupants, never moving. He is always there and frightens away the guests who see him. The strange happenings are too many to list here. Most bizarre of all, it spread to neighboring houses where gruesome murders played out and apparitions appeared. This is one story you will not believe. It's documented and the witnesses share their stories here.
