The lives of humans on one city block in Manhattan are touched by their canine companions in many ways. Dogs bring people together like nothing else can, acting as cupids for the old and young, male and female. They compel their human masters to go outside of themselves, to take part in the community they live in, to make friends, and sometimes, to fall in love. Such is the case with Beatrice, George, Everett, and Doris.
