CATTLE CALL PLAYERS are THE SYNDICATE: Three wealthy men who acquire 3,000,000 acres of Texas land in exchange for building a Capitol in Austin taller than the Capitol in Washington, D.C. MILLARD B. MacMILLAN: A lawyer for the Syndicate, deep in debt with serious marriage problems. He is not above mixing pleasure with business. He plans to seduce Ann Finch. ANN FINCH: The wife of Texas & Pacific telegrapher who is too pretty to be married to a man with a sour disposition and features to match. DUNCAN HORN: Twenty year old ranch owner whose father has been killed by Carbazal Ruiz. CARBAZAL RUIZ: A cruel Mexican rancher and lightning quick gunslinger who kills only gringos. BOHN HILLIARD: Foreman for MacMillan's 3,000,000 acre ranch. Young Duncan's friend and adviser. He is in love with Ann Finch. He was once handy with a gun and finds it necessary to use it again to save MacMillan's monetary hide and Duncan Horn's life. SHELLEY MacMILLAN: Is coming to Texas to live with her father.
