Seventeen years after the Vietnam War drove them apart, Sarah Lannom and Sonny Woods meet again. Sarah is to deer hunt with her husband when she finds that their guide is Sonny--the same Sonny she knew as a child, the same Sonny she was to marry. Sarah and Sonny confront their old love and attempt to settle their scores.
