In an allegory form similar to George Orwell's ANIMAL FARM, this novella--set in the central Mexican town of San Miguel de Allende--takes the reader into the dark world of "brujaria," ages-old forms of witchcraft in a small town, and raises the question, "Why, in a town where single expatriate men outnumber women seven to one, do the men keep disappearing?"
