Nutrition Labeling and Education Act

Abstracts: This hearing examines the practices of the food industry concerning the provision of nutrition information on food labels. Government agencies advise the public about health factors related to diet but the public will have difficulty following this advice if food manufacturers do not clearly inform the public about the composition of their products. Testimony is presented by consumer advocates, industry representatives and government officials.
