The Geist Relation, 200 Years in America

Christoph Geist (1717-1766), a mineralogist, was born in Wurtemberg, Germany. He immigrated to America in 1740 to take charge of a copper mine in Frederick Township, Philadelphia (now Montgomery) County, Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Anna Margareta (1724-1776), were married ca. 1742. They had nine children, ca. 1744-1766. Descendants listed lived in Pennsylvania and elsewhere.
