Andrew Lake is located in the far northeastern corner of Alberta, about 3 km from the NWT and Saskatchewan borders. The investigation was conducted from June 10-19, 1988 to describe the vegetation, collect the vascular and non-vascular flora and develop a checklist of these species, as well as gain information on the area's fire history and describe its soils. Some comparison of flora and soils were made with the 1987 work at Bistcho Lake, which lies in the boreal subarctic ecoregion of northwestern Alberta.
