Annotated bibliography of over 130 English-language titles, for young people ranging in age from 12-18 years, which deal with some form of violence. Each annotation examines the nature and role of violence in the book and analyses how violence is represented to the reader. Alphabetically arranged by author, it includes cross-references and recommended reading level for each title. A detailed introductory essay discusses the principal criteria for inclusion in the bibliography and the author's considerations in the design and compilation of the book. Includes title and subject indexes. Nimon has taught at tertiary level in teacher education, librarianship and children's literature. Foster is director of the Centre for Children's Literature based at the University of South Australia.
