This book explores the western portion of the continental United States, as illustrated. It offers a combination of photography and narrative information addressing the west. Each state has its own unique beauty, climate, geography, and wildlife. For presentation purposes, states with similar characteristics, such as Washington and Oregon, have been grouped together. In addition to the state summaries, the book addresses several special topics that are relevant to multiple states. These topics cover a range of subjects, including various wildlife species, fire season in the West, freshwater fly fishing, and more.
