Transition in Southern Africa

The 1990s completed a process of transition in Namibia and South Africa that brought formal decolonization in Africa to an end. These two contributions examine the transformation from a historical, comparative perspective and investigate the experiences and prospects of democratization under sovereign, legitimate political rule.
