Poppy Henderson trained as a beautician, but being vivid, outgoing and incurably honest, she realized she couldn't cope with her clients' unrealistic expectations. Determined to change, she signed on with a temp agency and found herself at a local hospital as secretary to senior consultant Fergus Brown.

Expecting an old fogy, Poppy was pleasantly surprised to find he was much younger. Fergus, having suffered a series of incompetent secretaries, however, wasn't at all pleased. Poppy's good looks suggested she might be right out of the same mold! Had her new job ended before it had begun?
