Business Strategies and Free Trade

Document presents papers prepared for the January, 1988 conference entitled B̀usiness Strategies and Free Trade' held in Toronto, where Canadian business leaders met to discuss how Canadian businesses should respond and adapt to the Free Trade Agreement. General themes expressed in the papers include acknowledging that businesses must learn to adjust if they are to prosper in the international business environment of the 1990s and that the adjustment process should be viewed as a continuous exercise in the development of new products, the streamlining of facilities, the adoption of new technologies and the development of new markets.
