Horton Series of regional decorative arts monographs published by the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts, this volume by John Bivins, Jr., is a study of the interrelationship of coastal North Carolina's history, geography, settlement patterns, economy, and furniture trade from 1700-1820. The style and technology of the furniture of the Carolina coastal plain are examined in detail.
