Colin McCahon is the first New Zealand painter of major international importance, and this is the most significant book to be published on him for many years. Co-published with the Stedelijk Museum of Art in Amsterdam, this book was produced to accompany a landmark exhibition of his paintings, which travelled from the Stedelijk through Australasia. The book includes 5 essays (one by the artists son, William McCahon) and a 60 000 word chronology of his life and work.
