Les Goums 1941-1945

The Goums-a company consisting of goumiers who were Moroccan soldiers in the French Army-were created in 1911 during the conquest of Morocco as a guerrilla police force. It was only after the pacification of the country that they were used for the first time as a regular unit, and participate in the 1940 campaign.
