Invalidity Benefit

Based on a study of a nationally representative sample of 1545 men and women who began receiving Invalidity Benefit (IVB) between January 1991 and March 1992, this report provides a description of the data obtained. It covers the personal characteristics of new IVB recipients, work histories before and after the spell on IVB, the health problem leading to receipt of IVB, and attitudes towards returning to work.
