Roger Holstein, the book author, was born in Paris, France, just before the world was engulfed in WW2. Roger narrates the events (sometimes with a twist of humor), that he got to live through in this most turbulant time of the world history. It is a wonder that he even survived all or even anyone of these events, From a 15 days stay in a Poland, German SS concentration camp, to utter pauverty, to a terrible cruel father who was an ex Army Marshall of the Tzar of Russia Nicholas II. Roger emigrated to Canada where the winter wether was too cold, then he left for So Californie wher he got to work for the TV studios and meeting lots of celebrities. But the Californie air was unfit for his sons, so he ended up finally in So. Florida, where he still lives today. You will be facinated by his life experiences.
