Daniel Spoerri, le Hasard comme maître

With coincidence as his friend, Romanian-born artist Daniel Spoerri has spent the last half century collecting, trapping, arranging and otherwise freezing in place a vast array of common and uncommon objects. His assemblages, montages and collages tell stories, picture stories made up of objects taken from a magical life. A pioneer in the Nouveau Realisme and Fluxus movements (and author of the classic Fluxus text An Anecdoted Topography of Chance), Spoerri is an assemblage master.
