Jap Ji Sahib

The spiritual writings of Guru Nanak composed in 15th-century India are made accessible in this new translation of the sacred textJapji Sahib. The inflections of the original Persian and Arabic words are captured to poetically convey the essence of the teachings and feelings of Guru Nanak as well as the couplet form of the original text. The nature of truth, birth and rebirth, and divinity as discussed in this work provide a window into the Indian cultural and religious worldview of the time.
